And the choir says, AMEN!
"The Diamond Complex, which includes three lightning-caused fires (Little Fork, Maverick and Mill), is 98% contained. The Little Fork fire is 34,550 acres and is 98% contained; the Maverick fire is 11,120 acres and 100% contained; and the Mill fire is 6,950 and 100% contained. Fire crews will continue to mop-up, patrol and rehabilitate fire areas. Incident Commander Tom Heintz would like to thank the people and communities of Ashland, Otter and all areas impacted by the Diamond Complex fires. "My Team and I received incredible support, assistance and hospitality during the incident," IC Heintz stated. "In a time of great stress and concern for your community and neighbors, you remained open to helping our Team achieve success of full suppression of the Little Fork, Maverick and Mill fires. Thank you." ~ from the InciWeb site 9/1/2011

The Maverick Fire ~
home ~
AND Thank you for your prayers, and well wishes...as you can see, the land needs to heal a bit - but next year there is going to be really green grass on those areas that burned, and the Ponderosa Pine seedlings will be popping up all over. No one was hurt on this fire except for a minor bee sting, and only a few outbuildings burned in the little fork fire...
we were all spared.
~
Oh Feral Thank goodness. I am so happy.
ReplyDeleteIt must have been frightening to not be there and wonder.
Fire is devastating yet after it brings new life, a phenomena we never really think of when it is happening.
I am happy to see the happy cat I can tell all is back to normal. Awesome photos. B
great photos..up close and personal. I hope Az had some people up there helping..you are always so generous when we are in trouble...
ReplyDeleteThe last photo with smoke and sun is filled with hope. Glad your beautiful home was safe. (gotta love that cat) and I love the man's hat!!!
ReplyDeleteHave you gotten any rain yet, to help avoiding new fires?
ReplyDeleteLooks like some big time smoke, I guess I would have had to been evacuated. How are your lungs?
So glad you all are ok...terrifying.
ReplyDeleteoh, thank goodness! those were some powerful prayers used to keep everyone and everything safe! :) love the pic of your foresterman...
ReplyDeleteSo glad you were all spared. That is so close to home for you. The photo just before the kitty photo looks so ominous.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are all OK and that no major structures burned. Your fire and smoke shots are awesome, but scary!

Wow awesome but scary photos. I am so glad to hear you your critters and neighbors suffered no casualties. Boy next year will really bring on the new stuff.I guess nature knows when it's time to take care of business but darn.... people do kinda have to live in the line of fire....no pun intended.
ReplyDeletePS. Thanks for the Helmet support. It reminds me that I have never cared what people think of me and I'm not going to start now.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are all safe. I know it sucks at first, but in the long run it is good for the cycle of life.
ReplyDeleteScary and awesome. So glad you are safe!
ReplyDeleteSo, so glad all is good. As devastating as fire can be, it also rejuvenates that land. I am so glad you were spared the fire! Yay!
