You know those blogs where talented people make absolutely wonderful baked goods?
This isnt one of them.
Is this what bread is suppose to look like...coming out of a bread machine?
*Sigh*
I think ill read the directions one more time....but this domestication thang' isnt easy darn it...
And yes, Mr. Foresterman was very grateful that I burst into laughter on this first attempt with the bread machine...because he almost hurt himself by suppressing his first "guffaw". And of course I made this photo extra large so you could appreciate all its "bigness"...because it really is that scary looking in person. Really.

Oh, my, it looks like a pale pile of bear.... You have great talent as a sculptor! Tell Mr. Foresterman that perhaps he should try doing a little baking. Tramp 1 makes a great loaf of No Knead bread.
ReplyDeleteI haven't even gotten my bread machine out of the box yet. I think it's been sitting there for at least 3 years so you're way ahead of me even looking at that loaf.
ReplyDeleteHilarious you make me laugh. I used a bread machine once same result so in conclusion yes. LOL
ReplyDeletelol..I don't even know how you got it out of the bread machine in one piece with that thang growing on the side...don't give up..I use mine all the time...they are great
ReplyDeleteOMG! That's hilarious!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog. I agree that Verde Farm is not only a great blog, but such a great and wonderful endeavor by Amy and her hubby. I have enjoyed looking and reading your blog too. Dexter is beautiful and I know he is enjoying the snow. I hope that bread tasted good. I thought bread machines were supposed to be easy!--Inger
ReplyDeleteHA! I gotta tell ya, I sort of busted up at this post. You must endeavor to pursevere as Lone Wati says. Not that you asked for advice, but it looks like your dough was too dry and didn't knead out smooth......or perhaps it was just........um.........yeah.........Just eat it and try again! It don't have to be purty to taste good!
ReplyDeletewhat the Goodwife said. Is this a brand new machine? My loaves always turned out smooth, if not too large, so I would make the bread and put in my own loaf pans for the second rise and bake it that way.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your next attempt!
You are too funny! So- I followed you. You'll see the avatar photo in "followers"of our two draft boys, Rocky and Ricky (Percherons). Stop by when you get a chance and see my little farm blog.

Have a good rest of the week!

Doesn't look to bad to me! Hey it isn't the shape that makes it taste good, did you eat it and was it good? I even have floppy bread days and we still use it , maybe in meatloaf or dry it for stuffing or in bread pudding. Heck if it tastes just aweful I bet the wild bird won't care.
ReplyDeleteDon't give up it took me several batches of bread to master it just a little and with time it just came more naturally( hope that makes sense) One hint, always knead the dough for a minimum of 8 minutes and be careful not to add to much flour, it sould be moist and a bit sticky.
Blessings,
Kelle
Have you tasted it yet? It might still be delicious :)
ReplyDeleteOh Feral-this is so the my loaf of bread. Be proud of it--embrace your big lumpy bread--it’s beautiful!

ReplyDeleteYou must have used one of my recipes! That's how it's suppose to look. lol
ReplyDeleteLOL! You made me laugh and if I made any kind of bread that is exactly what it would like.... My husband says it is cheaper to go to the grocery to buy it! I have to agree
ReplyDeleteYou left out the best part..... The fact that you fed it to the pony!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteOh my, are the little mixing paddles embedded inside the loaf somewhere? Be careful when you slice it. tee hee. I bet it will taste delicious.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the nice comment you left on my blog about doing the right things for horses. It made me feel really good.
