"Feral ~ from feminine of ferus wild: having escaped from domestication and become wild"...

Monday

Im in a pickle...

well, okay, not literally...i like pickles, especially polish dill...
anyways, I am finding that surgical menopause going on its second year is not the picnic I thought it would be, pickles and all.
I am having these brain issues where it seems like I am getting things done,
only to look behind me and say
"oh, i thought i did that already".
Needless to say Im leaving piles everywhere, and yes that is exactly as it sounds...

so help me.

we have been having whirlwinds of wonderful things happening, i take pictures, and darn it if another wonderful thing is sneaking up on us waiting to have its picture taken too. i dont know where to start. its like opening up that closet to get a pair of boots and then you notice that there is a tag left on the new sandals you bought next to them so you go and look for the scissors to cut that off and when you go to the scissor drawer you notice that the cabinet to the sink is open but thats because there is too much cleaning stuff under there so then you take some cleaning stuff out to the laundry room cabinet but then you look and see that you forgot to sort that laundry to start so you start but the dog is barking at something outside and so you open the door to tell him to shush but then notice that the bird feeder is empty and you have birdseed...but then  notice you dont have any boots on...help me.

So please, pick one of the following for me to do a post on. Seriously.

The number that gets the most numbers?!
(its okay, i understood what I wrote, thats all that matters sometimes...)
will have its very own post on Thursday.

lets begin, shall we?
help me.

#1
"the western photographers secret - first, get a horse..."

#2
"how close is too close to watch Polo?"

#3
"i spent the night in another mans bed..."

#4
"this what 50 looks like"
or
"i now know the meaning of "crepey" in crepey eyelids"

#5
"special" gifts you have received"

#6
"wyoming has guardrails unlike some states cough california cough"

Please help me.

  2. Oh, dear. Well, in spirit of trying to be helpful, here are some suggestions.
    #1. You've already got a horse. And a camera.
#2. How close depends on your camera lens.
#3. But was the other man in the bed?
    #4. Looking good!

That's enough to get you started. I understand the experience; Bear has days like that, too!

    Blessings and Bear hugs!

  3. Well FIRST off 50 looks Incredible I LOVE 50:)or yeah they may have a big plus sign after it or probably the words LOVED 50.:) Happy Birthday my Feral friend.

SECOND I love that old other man's bed so I am going to have to go with that one this is a G rated blog so sounds safe enough:)

THIRD I went to a auction sale and it was a horse farm I spent the whole day taking photos of horse stuff for people and surprisingly wishing I had a horse, this blogging with horse people thing is starting to rub off on me:)

FOURTH I love Ansel Adams so the above comment makes me want a horse even more.

FIVE so is #5 some kind of new fangled horse?

Six Polo what the heck is Polo and why were you lying on the ground with a ball coming straight for your head. .....never mind:)

OK I know this is a strange comment and completely out of order but that is just to let you know that whole menopause thing is here to stay just sayin'....

I hope the sandals are Rattlesnake proof:)

I would read ANYTHING you write my talented friend. You live in Montana now get out there and find me oops I mean you a horse.
Sorry I could not help I am off to find something I was looking for three days ago but I forget what it was. xxoo B

  4. I could vote for each of them . . . But let's start out with, "what does fifty look like!"

No matter . . . I like anything you write about you fifty year old, menopause, once a Wisconsinite, gone West, horse lovin', forest loggin', ting bundle of cheer . . .

    ReplyDelete
  5. Always did like Ansel Adams.A horse is key to much happiness. That's a great bed. It must have a history. 50 is good! Gets better from 50 on. A little bit of a wrinkle here or there indicates wisdom.
Somewhere on my desk is the list of 'to do' stuff that I made last week. I wonder where it is, what was on it, how important was it (quit, I think), I trip over the shop vac, check to see what has the dogs stirred up,notice a cloud that needs to be photoed, take that bag of garbage to the can, speak to a couple of sheep, shoo a barn cat away from a bird nest......what did I do with my coffee? I really need it. (I stopped using "real" mugs ages ago, exchanging them for paper because I kept losing mugs).sigh.....
I think we are supposed to re-think our priorities. Stop. Look. Appreciate. The laundry/dust/stuff/ will still be there later. The sunset, sunrise. blooming rose, won't be. It gets better. OR maybe we adjust to a new brain.

  6. Cover them all....in order. A new horse? I am closer to sixty so fifty was aeons ago, guardrails are sooo overrated(I do not look down anyway so how would I know?), my camera was never the same after I fell of a glacier(in the Alps, in Germany) and so on and so forth. ;-)

  7. i am selfishly asking for #4 - because i'm turning 50 next week and am having a tough time wrapping my head around it! i need all the assistance you can give! :)

  8. first of all...love your header picture. there is not any snowbanks here for me to jump into though when I get a hot flash.

Second.....I hear all you're saying, been in surgical menopause for over 10 years and sorry to say...for me anyway, its not getting any better. So see I feel your pain. LOL

Third, I would like to see a post on number 1 or number 5

    Have a great week Feral

  9. That is exactly the reason I cannot clean my home. It seriously takes me days for something that should take only hours. I like "whirlwind" so much better than some pshycological behavior name for such organized chaotic behavior patterns.

I'm voting for number 1. Who knows how many more photos will come along for the ride. And on a horse is the only way.

  10. Start with number #1, (My preference) and just roll on down the list. They all look entertaining.

  11. First of all, you have just described me! Add a big stomach and I know what 54, very soon to be 55 looks like. The weight keeps coming on and on, and I keep telling everyone, but they aren't listening...Menopause Sucks! I thought it was going to be a breeze. I thought you just stopped having periods and that was that. I thought wrong! And I do the same thing with my pictures...always trying to play catch up. But...Duuuh....sleeping in another man's bed, of course! Then get to the other ones!

  13. Why. NO.5 of course. Gifts you have received. Ok. I can't find the comma on this keyboard (Kindle Fire).

  14. You look GREAT! #3 for me!

  17. 50? You little peanut, you! I am voting for #1 because you may get there anyway - worrying about crepey eyes, you feel your way along a guardrail - only to find you are in CA - trip over a special gift, fall into bed, look through the window at a polo match, which is played on horseback. Horses! See? I am afraid I cannot be of any solace. I am post-menopausal and I go through that same routine daily. Poor us. But what a trip, no?!

    ReplyDelete
  18. #1 because I'm obsessed with anything about horses- anything else takes a back seat. (except maybe kidlets)
#3 because I am dying to know where that cool old bed resides at.
#4 because I am turning 50 this year too and that because picture looks like it was taken in Deadwood.
#5 dancing cow is cool, must be a good story behind that, and I love cool gifts like that.
#6 because I live in WY for another month
#2 Not a huge fan of polo, but it involves horses so I want to hear about it.

Yes, menopause was supposed to be easy, that is what my Granny said....some days I think Granny lied to me because it pretty much sucks for me most of the time too.

  19. I vote #3...but have Mr. Foresterman write it! =o)

  20. #3, because I'm selfish. By the Way. HRT (hormone replacement therapy) saved my husband's life,or I mean mine.
I highly recommend it, if it's possible for you.

  21. I vote for #1...or maybe #4...wait, wait, #3...no, definitely #2.
Yep, menopause really, really sucks! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  22. I vote for number 4 since you already dissed my state in number 6, cough, cough. Re: surgical menopause, I had one too, but it's nothing like being 73, which I just became, and let me tell you, the distractions pile up with scary consistency.

  23. Slept in another man bed. #3 Sounds interesting!!

  24. I vote for number 1! Did you find a new pony friend for Ebony??? I need to know. Of course I want to know all the rest too, so you have a lot of writing to do ;)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Gotta know about the favorite gifts, 'specially that sweet giraffe (hobby horse?, rag pony?, thingie?).

    ReplyDelete
  26. oh, the Guardrails! I seem to recall a post recounting some of the terror involved in the lack of guardrails. and by the way, if I did not know that was you wallowing in the snow in the top photo, I could swear that was me!!!!
