Conversation with a cat...

Tomez!
what?

Who left lick marks in the butter on the kitchen counter thats softening for cookies??!
 Oh gosh, thats horrible Mom!

Yes I know - Did YOU?
Did I tell you about the mouse I hunted last night, mom?

No, you did not. Now, about the butter...
Do I look like I would stoop to jumping on kitchen counters?

 Yes, yes you do...
Comeon', really?  look at my sweetness...
plus Im too busy chasing mice that YOU cant seem to catch....

This isnt about your sweetness, nor my hunting abilities. Now about the butter...
Did you see how big my paws are getting mom?
Looky, I can swipe now! Gonna get me some mice!
Swipey swipey, watch out micey!

STOP CHANGING THE SUBJECT! DID YOU LICK THE BUTTER???
sniff...sniff....

I be a baad baad boy...

Sigh.

  1. I don't think he did it...give him the benefit of the doubt! I think that is why I never had a cat...the climbing on the counters just wouldn't work for me...though we could use a mouser for sure...

  2. Silly, it was the MOUSE that got into the butter, while the cat was looking for him!

I've got a long email started to you but it gets set aside everytime I add to it. I really enjoyed your "essay" to me!

  6. daggone lick marks...NEVER leave evidence behind! But he's young...he'll learn. How many times have us cat owners drunk out of our cups of water without knowing that a cat had just done the same? :p

  7. I heard once that the law fully understands that we are not in control of cats, now dogs on the other hand. Thanks for your comment on Ira.

  8. What an adorable kitty! Very cute post. Love the pictures and the conversation. My word verification is Ratsmat. That's appropriate. Swipey the micey and smat the rats.

I am feral, so although I dont respond at all like most domesticated bloggers, I will try my best - Thank you for even wanting to leave a comment, as it may draw me out from the woods from whence I came!

Or under a rock, it depends most days...
